Margaret Brown Honored at 16th Annual Ford Freedom Awards

The Ford Motor Company and the Charles H. Wright Museum of American History held its annual Ford Freedom Award in the spirit of “Perseverance” this year. FHCMD President Margaret Brown was among 8 local honorees and 14 Tuskegee Airmen who were selected for the honor; which took place at Detroit Music Hall on May 21, 2014. The Ford Freedom Award Celebrates and pays tribute to lives and legacies of African Americans who have made tremendous contributions to our nation – and the world. This year’s national Award honorees were President Nelson Mandela; Scholar, Mrs. Myrlie Evers-Williams and a Tuskegee Airman and World War II POW, Lt. Col. (Ret) Alexander Jefferson.
